Everyone on the planet is trying to figure out how to add AI to their business without blowing up everything that already works.
No one wants to rip and replace all their current systems. You just want AI that works on top of what you already have, and ideally doesn't require everyone in the company to re-learn how to do their entire job.
Mug is the bridge between all the disconnected systems companies use today, and the AI magic everyone is chasing. It's fast, flexible, secure, and has all the pieces you need for fully-custom AI automation, that just so happen to fit neatly around all your existing systems.
The smoothest path to custom AI at your company
Everyone using their personal ChatGPT or Claude at work is not how companies get the most out of AI. You want agents embedded in everyday processes that no one has to prompt — they just work in the background all the time.
Mug takes what has traditionally been a complex developer project — building AI automation customized to work the way your company does — and makes it straightforward and predictable.
Whoever is building in Mug — your IT team, the consultant you hire, vibe coders inside the company, etc — installs the Mug CLI Agent Kit on their computer then uses their AI coding agent (Claude, Codex, Cursor) to build custom AI agents and workflows that run on Mug. This gives all the flexibility of custom code, with the speed and developer-friendliness of coding agents like Claude Code, and lets developers leverage the same AI subscription they're already paying for to build on Mug.
Fully custom AI, fully secure
Mug runs on Cloudflare. Every workspace is 100% tenant isolated — your data, your agents, and your workflows run in your own isolated environment. No one else's Mug workspace ever touches yours. Every workspace gets a custom mug.work subdomain (or root domain on Business plan).
Agents and AI workflows built on Mug can run any of the 150+ models supported by Cloudflare AI Gateway from providers like Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, Meta, DeepSeek, and Moonshot AI.
Integrate any system with an API
An AI automation platform is only as good as the systems it can connect to. Mug can connect to any API that a developer and/or Claude/Codex/Cursor can build a connector for.
After an API is connected, the developer configures a sync to pull selected data from that system on a schedule. Synced data is stored as SQLite, a format agents can work with natively.
Agents get read-only access to data by default, and when you do want an edit applied back to live business data, it's configured as a one-off action with version history and rollback guardrails.
Break down data silos and knowledge gaps
Once data is inside Mug, it's easy for agents to find records across any table or database, regardless of the source. You can finally answer data questions across systems that have been siloed for years.
You can upload files and folders into Mug workspaces for agents to work with. This includes custom skills and instructions for your agents. Document every business process and deep context about your business, then use it to power AI that truly understands what your company does and how things should work.
Add AI automation without adding friction
Mug is a "headless" platform — there is no Mug "app" that your team uses.
Mug has surfaces (simple web page interfaces like forms, portals, and dashboards) and a custom Slack app you can install in your Slack workspace. You can use one without the other, or neither when humans don't need to be involved or just need a simple text or email. Click here for a surfaces demo.
This means: nobody has a new app to learn, and nobody loses the current software they already know how to use. Everyone just keeps working like normal. They'll get pinged with a text, email, or Slack when something happens in Mug they need to know about, then they might pop open a form, fill it out, then close it and get back to their day.
AI productivity gets unlocked, processes run smoother for everyone, and no one has to change how they work. Everybody wins.
